OLTC (On-Load Tap Changer) is the only moving, mechanically active part inside a power transformer. It operates under continuous electrical and mechanical stress. Over time,contacts wear, transition resistors degrade, and insulating oil deteriorates from arcing. So regular servicing prevents these issues from escalating into a tap-changer failure, which can take the entire transformer out of service.
CTR offers both comprehensive servicing (full diagnostic checks, contact inspection, oil replacement, resistor and mechanism overhaul) and non-comprehensive/preventive servicing (routine condition checks and minor maintenance) depending on the OLTC’s operating history and site requirements.

NIFPS/EPFES is a safety-critical protection system. It is designed to detect faults and suppress fire only during an actual transformer emergency.Regular preventive maintenance ensures all sensors, valves, nitrogen cylinders, and control logic remain fully functional.
An unmaintained or unhealthy NIFPS/EPFES may fail to detect or respond to an internal transformer fault in time, allowing a fire or explosion to progress unchecked.
