ARC FLASH PROTECTION

OVERVIEW

Dedicated Arc Flash Protection system for Low and Medium Voltage class switchgear. Provides category 0 or 1 protection as per NFPA 70. Complies IEEE 1584, IEC60255, UL 2748, IEC 60947. Used for installations in Utilities | Powerplants | Windpower | Offshore | Marine | Oil and gas | Mining | Steel| and other heavy Industrial applications | Commercial and Institutional electrical systems.

 

COMPONENTS

ARC SENSOR

  • Designed to pickup light signal in less than 1 ms
  • Sensor types are dedicated arc light and/or combination of arc light, pressure and overcurrent
  • Available sensor types are arc light, arc light and pressure point sensors and Arc light fibre optic loop sensors.
  • Wide operating temperature range from -20…+125 °C
  • Wire length upto 100 meters

 

ARC QUENCHING DEVICE

  • Unique reusable design creates a three-phase low-impedance parallel path for fault current to flow thus extinguishing the arc fault in less than 4 ms. Configurable to existing\ new\ retrofit LV and MV switchgear\ Control gear\ GIS.
  • Complies IEEE 1584 and tested as per IEC60947 and UL 2748.
  • Provides category 0 or 1 protection as per NFPA 70
  • Available upto 17.5 kV
  • Permits live testing.
  • Quick operation minimizes damaging thermal and pressure effects due to arc flash.

ARC FLASH RELAYS

  • Dedicated Relays for processing fault signal in less than 7 ms
  • Complies IEEE 1584 and type tested to IEC60255.
  • Standalone
  • Configurable to existing\ new\ retrofit LV and MV switchgear\ Control gear\ GIS.
  • Unique design permits live testing.
  • Pre-programmed with minimal setting
