CTR has evolved from the cherished objectives of our founder Late
Mr. Pratap Kumar of manufacturing products considered as value for money and offering prompt After Sales Service. He strongly believed in technological leadership based on which he founded the first Transformer manufacturing company in India, the National Electrical Industries Ltd (NEI) in 1946.

In 1952 the Crescent Iron and Steel Company was acquired producing castings and mild steel transformer tanks which enabled manufacture of motors, pumps and grinders, adding to the initial range of NEI products.

Subsequently several other manufacturing factories namely CISCO (1952), MTR (1956) and WNC (1961) were added to consolidate the NEI footprint in the then expanding power industry in India. CTR was established in 1964 and initially manufactured On Load Tapchangers for Transformers needed to control power supply fluctuation and Pressed Steel Radiators used in Power and Distribution Transformers.

Since then, we have dedicated ourselves in making a difference in the lives of our stakeholders by regularly updating our range of products and services to include State of the Art world patented products such as Explosion Prevention and Fire Protection Systems for Transformers and Reactors etc.

Our business is the result of our founder’s visionary leadership followed by his son Mr. Anil Pratap Kumar and the present Managing Director Mr. Vijay K. Wakchaure giving the best to employees, customers and community. This rich heritage defines who we are and what we do.
